The mechanics
It starts with your address
Your address decides which stores, prices and delivery slots you see.- Prices and availability come from the stores that serve that address.
- Browsing is open everywhere; prices and ordering unlock on an address we cover.
- Outside the delivery area you can still save everything as a shopping list.
- Switching address rebuilds the catalogue, so we ask before clearing your cart.
Every recipe is already a full basket
Open a recipe and the products needed to cook it are priced and ready.- Three offers per recipe — Standard, Smart and Extra — switch any time.
- Pick your servings; we show how much of each pack you would actually use.
- Optional ingredients are never added for you — you tick the ones you want.
- Change quantities or drop products and the total re-prices as you go.
- Campaign offers are a fixed bundle at a fixed price; the servings stay yours.
You never pay twice for the same ingredient
The more you add, the more your basket overlaps — and the extra comes out.- Smart Savings checks what your recipes need against real store pack sizes.
- Apply every suggestion at once, or remove the extra one product at a time.
- Recipe Combos suggest dishes that reuse your cart — you pay only the difference.
- Meal plans are priced as one shared basket, not as a stack of separate recipes.
What's left over becomes another meal
Pack sizes rarely match a recipe exactly, so we cook with the remainder.- Every order includes a free bonus recipe built from your leftover ingredients.
- Full Basket Mode swaps it for a fuller recipe that uses more of the basket.
- Bonus recipes land in To Cook next to the dishes you ordered.
- ChefnotesX plans include more bonus recipes per order.
Pick a slot, or put it on repeat
You choose the delivery window at checkout; we only show slots we can honour.- Slots open in a rolling six-day window, limited by partner capacity.
- Where same-day delivery runs, it closes at 13:00 and those slots start from 16:00.
- Delivery and service fees are itemised at checkout, before you pay.
- Turn a cart into a recurring basket and it re-delivers every week.
- Pause it, move the slot, or preview the next delivery before it ships.
If the store runs out, you don't lose money
We shop your basket for real, so stock can change after you order.- A missing product is replaced with a comparable one — same ingredient, similar amount.
- Replacements and anything undelivered are listed in your order details.
- Paid more than was delivered? The difference comes back as Chefnotes Credits.
- Credits show balance and expiry in your profile and apply to your next order.
The Chef writes recipes on request
Describe a dish and get a real recipe back, priced like any other.- Type a craving, what's in the fridge, or a dietary style — that's the whole input.
- You get ingredients, steps and a basket you can order straight away.
- One AI credit per generation; if it fails, the credit comes back.
- Every order tops your credits up; ChefnotesX adds a monthly quota that resets.
- Generated recipes are AI-written — read them before you cook or order.
Any cart saves as one merged list, grouped by category.
- Ingredients from every recipe, plan and product merge into a single list.
- Tick items off in the aisle — progress and what is left stay in sync.
- Close a trip with what it cost and how long it took; finished lists stay in your history.
- Link the people you shop with and share a list with them.
